How soon can your services start?
Generally we can begin services within 48 hours but often times we can start services the same day that we are contacted.
Can you do short term care?
Our care is available just a few hours per day up to 24 hours per day, one day a week or every day. We will work with you to customize a plan of care that meets your individual needs. We do require a minimum of 3 hours per visit although special exceptions can be accommodated.
Are your services only available to the elderly?
No. Smartcare offers services to clients with disabilities, new moms, people recovering from surgery or illness, Cancer care and many other special requests. Of course we also offer services to seniors who need an extra helping hand. Please contact us to learn more.
What area do you provide your services to?
Currently SmartCare provides services to Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Washtenaw and Monroe counties.
What are your fees? Do you accept insurance? How about Medicare or Medicaid?
Currently insurance does not cover non-medical homecare, however we have set our rates so that they are affordable to you while providing you with the best quality of care. Some long term insurance carriers do cover some services.
Why should I choose homecare versus nursing home care?
We have all heard the saying there is no place like home. Studies show that people live longer, healthier lives when they can remain within the familiar surroundings of their own home. In comparison, homecare is much less expensive than nursing home care, and you will receive individual care customized to meet your needs and schedule. Home care keeps families together while allowing your loved one to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.
Can you manage the care of my loved one with Alzheimer's or Dementia disease?
Absolutely. In fact, SmartCare is a member of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, as well as the Dementia Care Providers of America. All of our caregivers have received training in Dementia/Alzheimer's care.
How do you select your caregivers?
Our caregivers are truly the best of the best. Our goal is to provide you with a caregiver that has the specific skills to meet your specific needs. All of our caregivers have undergone a complete screening process, including drug screening, background checks, reference checks, and driving records. They are all trained in CPR for your added peace of mind and have received training in Dementia/Alzheimer's care. Our employees are bonded, insured and covered by workman's compensation, but most importantly our caregivers have warm hearts, and a compassion for helping others.
Can you provide services in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Rehab Centers or Assisted Living Facilities?
Yes. SmartCare can provide services in all of these facilities. We also offer respite care for the family when they need to take a break from caring for their loved ones. SmartCare is an extension of family, and as such, are here for you whenever you need us.
